A Mobile Retirement with Style

While not the plan for our family, another option that some military retirees choose is full-time life on the road in large motorized recreational vehicles. One such couple is Larry and Connie Farquhar who publish U.S. Military Campgrounds series of travel guides for military members and retirees. They've also outlined their personal story on their web site, http://www.happy-wanderers.com/. Their story is unique, and the web site is very informative because they share their budgets from 2005-2009, giving us real insight into the costs associated with this lifestyle. In short, it's very inexpensive.

This is one of my plans before I stay in one of the Charlotte retirement homes in North Carolina. I want to invest good and useful assets like vehicles. My son's helping me sort out options, as I'm still trying to decide whether to rent or buy a house. A retiree like me who had architecture as a career would love to stay in a place with good house designs and structures.
