President Proposes 1.6% Pay Increase

According to the Military Times Newspapers, President Obama has proposed a 1.6% pay increase for military members in 2012. This comes as a relief to many who had heard that military members would be included in a pay freeze of government pay. The President's proposal would also make pay increases automatic in line with government statistics on the average increases in civilian pay. This would ensure that military members no longer have a large gap in compensation with their civilian counterparts, which was once more than 13%.
